Our Towing Association Memberships & Affiliations
Towing association memberships help us keep training aligned with current laws, equipment standards, and roadway best practices. These towing industry affiliations connect us with operators, safety directors, and association leaders across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Maryland so our instruction stays relevant, compliant, and field-tested.
Our team delivers professional towing safety training ranging from ERSCA Essentials (Standard & Heavy Duty) to Advanced Winch & Rigging Safety and Electric Vehicle (EV) Operations, along with warehouse-focused programs like forklift/telehandler/MEWP operator certification. These towing association memberships help us track state-level initiatives, legislative updates, and emerging equipment guidance so the instruction you receive is up-to-date and actionable.
Why These Towing Association Memberships Matter
- Up-to-date guidance on state rules, standards, and equipment expectations.
- Direct access to member events for ERSCA, EV operations, and winch/rigging safety training.
- Faster coordination to host classes in PA, NJ, NY, and MD.
- Peer networking that improves on-scene safety and results.
These towing association memberships keep our curriculum aligned with real-world needs across PA, NJ, NY, and MD.
Pennsylvania Towing Association (PA)

The Pennsylvania Towing Association represents towers throughout the Commonwealth with a focus on safety, professionalism, and unified standards. PTA’s statewide footprint allows members to coordinate training, share resources, and stay current on regulations that impact daily operations—from roadway incident management to towing, recovery, storage, and equipment requirements. As a Pennsylvania-based training provider, our PTA membership anchors Scomac where we work most, keeping us aligned with Pennsylvania’s specific priorities and initiatives.
Why we joined: Pennsylvania is home. We’ve built long-term training relationships here, especially with Falzone Towing Service, Inc., where we deliver multiple ERSCA classes annually. Staying active in PTA supports the operators who host us, the students we teach, and the safety outcomes we’re all working toward across PA.
Benefits to students & clients: access to local training dates, current state guidance, and a network of peers facing the same on-highway realities you do. PTA membership strengthens our Pennsylvania towing safety training and helps ensure our programs reflect the latest state-level considerations.
In short, our towing association memberships in Pennsylvania help deliver timely, relevant training.

GSTA — Garden State Towing Association (NJ)

The Garden State Towing Association supports New Jersey towers through education, advocacy, and community. GSTA members share operational challenges and solutions unique to the region—from dense traffic corridors to weather, permitting, and storage concerns. The association helps unify best practices and provides a platform for ongoing training and professional development.
Why we joined: New Jersey is where Scomac got its start in both the towing industry and the forklift/MEWP training world. Over the years we’ve taught numerous classes in NJ—including at least one this year—and we’ve maintained close friendships across the GSTA community. Membership is our way of giving back to the state and the colleagues who supported us from the beginning.
Benefits to students & clients: stronger access to regional training, alignment with NJ-specific practices, and clearer pathways to host ERSCA programs and private sessions for teams across the Garden State.
New Jersey operators benefit directly from our towing association memberships through easier class access and host coordination.

ESTRA — Empire State Towing & Recovery Association (NY)

ESTRA promotes professionalism, safety, and training for towing and recovery operations throughout New York. The state’s diverse terrain and weather patterns, along with busy highways and urban centers, make standardized practices and shared learning especially valuable. ESTRA provides a forum for towers to collaborate, elevate operator skills, and advocate on issues that affect daily work.
Why we joined: We delivered five New York classes this year across multiple hosts and have additional dates planned. Joining ESTRA helps us stay connected with New York’s towers, expand collaboration, and support the broader training ecosystem statewide. Our relationships here continue to grow beyond the classroom as we build professional ties and friendships across the state.
Benefits to students & clients: improved visibility for upcoming training, better alignment with New York practices, and easier paths to bring ERSCA Essentials, Advanced Winch & Rigging Safety, and EV Operations courses to local operators.
In New York, these towing association memberships support scheduling, outreach, and consistent operator safety practices.
TRPM — Towing & Recovery Professionals of Maryland (MD)

TRPM serves Maryland towers through training access, industry advocacy, and peer networking. The association’s member base spans light-, medium-, and heavy-duty operations, with shared interest in safe winching and rigging practices, roadside risk reduction, and compliant towing and transport. That focus aligns directly with Scomac’s curriculum and our emphasis on operator safety.
Why we joined: Maryland welcomed us for an Advanced Heavy-Duty Winching & Rigging Safety class this year, and previously for two Electric Vehicle (EV) Operations) classes in 2024. Membership in TRPM helps us maintain those connections, continue delivering specialized training, and support the towers who’ve invited us to share safety-focused instruction in the state.
Benefits to students & clients: easier coordination for hosting, clearer scheduling for regional classes, and a shared commitment to the standards and methods that keep operators safer on the roadside.
Maryland teams gain from our towing association memberships with faster planning and standards-aligned instruction.

Training Backed by Associations
Our multi-state membership strategy is simple: stay connected to the people doing the work, align instruction with real-world conditions, and support the associations that advocate for safer roads and stronger businesses. Whether it’s ERSCA Essentials, Advanced Winch & Rigging Safety, or EV Operations, we design each class to protect both people and profit, combining standards with practical, on-scene methods that operators can use immediately.
