Professional Memberships & Affiliations
Strong industry connections help keep our training grounded in the real world. At Scomac Associates, LLC, our memberships and affiliations keep us connected to the operators, instructors, safety leaders, and emergency response professionals shaping today’s towing, recovery, and safety environment.
These relationships help us stay current on changing standards, equipment practices, roadway hazards, and training priorities across towing, recovery, industrial operations, and emergency response. They also strengthen our ability to coordinate classes, support host locations, and deliver instruction that is practical, compliant, and field-tested.
Our training includes ERSCA Essentials (Standard & Heavy Duty), Advanced Winch & Rigging Safety, Electric Vehicle (EV) Operations, Traffic Incident Management (TIMS), and operator-focused programs such as forklift, telehandler, and MEWP training. These memberships and affiliations help ensure what we teach reflects what crews are actually facing in the field.
Why These Memberships & Affiliations Matter
- They help keep our training aligned with current rules, standards, and best practices.
- They support stronger relationships with towing operators, associations, and training hosts.
- They improve coordination for classes across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Maryland.
- They expand our reach into specialized areas like hazmat awareness and emergency response training.
- They keep our instruction connected to real-world operations—not just theory.
Pennsylvania Towing Association (PA)
The Pennsylvania Towing Association represents towers throughout the Commonwealth with a focus on safety, professionalism, and unified standards. PTA helps members stay connected on issues involving roadway incident management, towing and recovery operations, storage, equipment, and state-level concerns affecting the industry.
Why we joined: Pennsylvania is home. We’ve built strong training relationships here and continue to support towers and companies across the state through ongoing instruction and safety-focused work.
Benefits to students & clients: better access to local training opportunities, stronger alignment with Pennsylvania-specific practices, and a network of peers facing the same operational realities.

Garden State Towing Association (NJ)
The Garden State Towing Association supports New Jersey towers through education, advocacy, and community. GSTA helps operators share ideas, improve professionalism, and stay connected to the issues affecting towing and recovery work in one of the region’s busiest operating environments.
Why we joined: New Jersey played a major role in Scomac’s early development in both the towing industry and the forklift/MEWP training world. We’ve taught classes there, built lasting relationships there, and continue to stay connected to the people who helped shape our path.
Benefits to students & clients: better regional access to training, stronger host coordination, and closer alignment with the needs of New Jersey operators.

Empire State Towing & Recovery Association (NY)
ESTRA promotes professionalism, safety, and training for towing and recovery operations throughout New York. From urban corridors to rural routes and winter conditions, New York operators face a wide range of challenges that make shared learning and standardized practices especially valuable.
Why we joined: We’ve delivered multiple classes in New York and continue to expand relationships with hosts and operators across the state. Joining ESTRA helps us stay connected to those professionals and contribute to a stronger statewide training network.
Benefits to students & clients: improved visibility for classes, better regional coordination, and stronger alignment with New York towing and recovery realities.
Towing & Recovery Professionals of Maryland (MD)
TRPM serves Maryland towers through advocacy, training access, and peer networking. Its members span light-, medium-, and heavy-duty operations with a shared focus on safer towing, better recovery practices, and stronger professional standards.
Why we joined: Maryland has welcomed us for both Advanced Heavy-Duty Winching & Rigging Safety and Electric Vehicle Operations training. TRPM helps us maintain those relationships and continue supporting the towers and hosts who’ve invited us into the state.
Benefits to students & clients: easier hosting coordination, clearer training visibility, and instruction aligned with the operational needs of Maryland teams.
Hazmat Responder Network
Scomac Associates is also proud to be affiliated with the Hazmat Responder Network, a respected training and information resource focused on hazardous materials response and emergency responder education.
Why this affiliation matters: not every incident fits neatly inside a towing or recovery box. Some situations involve cargo tanks, hazardous materials concerns, emergency responder coordination, and complex scene management where towing, hazmat awareness, and responder safety intersect.
This affiliation supports our continued development in specialized areas such as:
- Cargo tank incident awareness
- Hazardous materials response considerations
- Emergency responder coordination
- Cross-discipline training for towing, fire, rescue, and safety professionals
Benefits to students & clients: broader subject matter support, stronger crossover training opportunities, and expanded insight into the kinds of high-risk incidents where towing and emergency response overlap.
